tickets for the Robert F. Kennedy Jr. speech in JQH Arena will be available to the public starting March 3. Tickets were made available to MSU students, faculty and staff March 1 and 2.
Environmental business leader and advocate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will speak at the sixth annual Public Affairs Conference, themed “The New Economy: Promise and Peril.” Kennedy will speak at 10 a.m. April 16 in JQH Arena. Missouri State, Leadership Springfield and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board collaborated to make Kennedy’s appearance at the conference possible.
Following are details concerning obtaining tickets:
- All seats are general admission, first come first served. Limit four tickets per person. For groups of 10 or more, contact the Springfield-Greene County Park Board, (417) 864-1049.
- Tickets must be picked up in advance as there will not be a Will Call window open for this event.
- Tickets available at:
- MSU Ticket outlets (JQH Arena, Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts, and the Plaster Student Union ticket office)
- Springfield-Greene County Park Board (Springfield-Greene County Park Board’s main office, Chesterfield Family Center, Doling Family Center, Dickerson Park Zoo Administration office)
- All Springfield-Greene County Library Branches (The Library Center, Library Station, Brentwood Branch Library, Midtown Carnegie Branch Library, Park Central Branch Library, Ash Grove Branch Library, Fair Grove Branch Library, Strafford Branch Library, Willard Branch Library, Republic Branch Library)
- Tickets may be ordered through the ticket office (417-836-7678), but a $5 shipping and handling fee will apply.

Brighton Highway Assembly of God presents, LaVerne and Edith Tripp in Ministry and Concert Sunday March 14 at 8:30 am and 10:45 am.
LaVerne joined the world-famous Blue Ridge Quartet in 1969. For seven years LaVerne sang lead with this group and led them to unprecedented success. During this period of LaVerne’s career, he wrote and recorded three consecutive number-one songs; I Know, That Day Is Almost Here and After Calvary. LaVerne was voted male vocalist of the year and his song, I Know, was song of the year. He was nominated eight times for the coveted Dove Award. At the pinnacle of the group’s success, LaVerne surrendered his will and his life to the care of God and launched out to fulfill God’s destiny for his life as an evangelist.
LaVerne and Edith hosted the Praise the Lord program on the Trinity Broadcasting Network. Over the past 35 years of ministry, LaVerne has seen more than 800,000 souls born into the Kingdom of God, traveled around the world, built Bible schools, churches, children’s homes, and now is the soul sponsor of 300 children adopted in India.
LaVerne’s song, We’ve Got The Power, has, and is continuing to be sung by the church around the world. In 2001, CCMA presented LaVerne with the Living Legend Award at the Ryman Auditorium, in Nashville, TN. CCMA also awarded him for his number one song, A Bible And A Bus Ticket Home, from the project, We Will Rise Above It All.
LaVerne just released his 79th full-length recording entitled, Foundation Stones. It is comprised of 15 of LaVerne’s favorite hymns, including Old Rugged Cross, Amazing Grace, Jesus Loves Me as well as 12 others. The songs on this recording are the foundation stones our life is built upon.
LaVerne and his lovely wife, Edith, travel weekly to churches across America and around the world sharing their songs and message of hope, freedom and deliverance to all who will listen.
