The Bolivar Rotary will host the 29th Annual Celebration of
Freedom community picnic and fireworks extravaganza on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. The event will be held on the beautiful campus of Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar. The community picnic features 18 vendors offering food, information, and games. Entertainment by local singing and gymnastics groups starts at 6:00 p.m. including a community sing-along and a military flyover. The Celebration of Freedom program and veterans recognition begins at 8:00 and features special guest speaker Representative Ed Emery and a balloon release by Beams of Light. After dark, attendees will be thrilled by one of the best fireworks displays in the area. Come join us in Bolivar for an evening of fun and patriotism. All proceeds will be used to benefit over 20 local charitable organizations and the international efforts of Rotary International including a partnership in the Bill and Melinda Gates $200 million dollar Polio Challenge.
